Granite Construction invites enthusiastic, hardworking interns and entry-level professionals to join our nationwide operations. You will assist construction engineering operations, interpret drawings, and support bids with takeoffs and material estimates.

The role emphasizes collaboration, data accuracy, and safety while working with durable infrastructure projects. A high school diploma is required and pursuing a related bachelor's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED and be working toward a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic math for estimates and calculations.
• Ability to interpret drawings, perform takeoffs, and communicate effectively with team members.

Responsibilities

• Interpret design/drawings for takeoff and workforce for bidding and building construction projects.
• Prepare and distribute required documentation such as status reports, punch lists, sketches, and material calculations to supervisor.
• Provide technical support regarding project materials meeting specifications, delivery dates, and construction schedules.
• Assist with change orders and estimates by preparing drawings and sketches to support estimating and construction work.
• Develop job data including quantity take-offs and material pricing to ensure accurate estimates and bids.
• Maintain records of quantities for work performed and materials installed for cost controls on construction projects.
