Job summary

Valenti Builders in Chicago, IL is seeking a Project Engineer to support construction lifecycles from conceptual budgeting through delivery and closeout.

You will collaborate with internal teams, clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors, maintain schedules and documentation, review shop drawings, manage submittals, and assist with change orders and cost reporting to ensure on-time, on-budget project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or related field is required.
• Experience coordinating construction projects and communicating with stakeholders.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain critical path method schedules with internal and external teams.
• Attend weekly Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings and document outcomes.
• Prepare and maintain project logs and reports for stakeholder communication.
• Review shop drawings and submittals for completeness and contract alignment.
• Assist in change orders pricing and cost tracking, and assist with monthly pay applications.
• Support project closeout, punchlist resolution, and subcontract management.
• Collaborate on bid strategy and subcontract scopes to prevent overlaps or gaps.
