Job summary

Milhouse Engineering and Construction, Inc. is seeking a Construction Project Engineer in the Chicago area to support the Construction Project Manager. You will oversee major construction tasks, organize materials and equipment, and plan costs across projects.

You will coordinate with field teams, prepare RFIs, and ensure work aligns with drawings and specs. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in a related field and 2–5 years of commercial construction experience, with proficiency in Procore and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or Project Management.
• 2–5 years of related experience in commercial construction management and public sector projects.
• Experience with Procore, AutoCAD, Bluebeam or Revit is preferred.
• Familiarity with building codes, environmental regulations and OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret project drawings and specifications; perform material take-offs and cost estimates.
• Manage project scope, schedule and budget; prepare change orders and management plans.
• Create project management and quality control plans; develop Critical Path Method schedules.
• Coordinate with field crews and project leadership; maintain project files and documentation.
• Handle RFIs, submittals and contracts; monitor safety and quality on site.
