Job summary

Smartsearchonline, a Southern California-based commercial construction and development company, seeks a Project Engineer in Bellflower, CA. This full-time role supports the Project Manager, coordinates with subcontractors, and helps ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery.

Responsibilities include review of submittals, RFIs, scheduling, procurement, and cost reporting. Requires a bachelor's in Construction Management or related field and 3+ years (or 5+ years) GC experience; California

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Building Construction, or related field; 3+ years as Project Engineer at GC or 5+ years as Project Engineer at GC.
• Strong technical and administrative skills; organized and able to multitask across multiple project facets.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam, Sage 300 CRE and related software.
• Valid California Driver's License and driving record suitable for company insurance requirements.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with subcontractors, field supervisors, owner representatives, and architects to ensure quality and timely project completion.
• Review submittals and RFIs to support construction activities.
• Assist Project Manager in coordinating with various teams to progress project milestones.
• Support project cost review, reporting, and documentation; maintain meeting minutes and logs.
• Create and maintain RFI documents and change order pricing where applicable.
