Job summary

DPR Construction in Charlotte, NC is seeking a project engineer to support successful delivery of construction projects with involvement from planning through closeout.

The role collaborates with project teams, contractors and stakeholders, reviews drawings and submittals, tracks schedules and budgets, and helps ensure safety and quality standards on site.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor's degree in a related field and 0–4 years of experience; OSHA 30 is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field.
• 0-4 years of experience in construction engineering, project engineering, or a related field.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification preferred; OSHA 30 program completion within 6 months of hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure accuracy and compliance with project goals, while maintaining regular field presence to support safe work execution, including attendance at safety meetings such as stretch and flex and engagement in high-risk activity planning and controls.
• Coordinates with project managers and project teams to address standard technical questions and resolve general project issues.
• Monitors standard project schedules and budgets, tracks labor productivity, and reports variances to support timely corrective actions based on established guidelines.
• Supports the implementation of standard quality assurance and safety protocols throughout all project phases.
• Prepares and maintains project documentation, including progress reports and technical records.
• Identifies opportunities for incremental improvements and contributes to the development of leading practices with guidance.
• Participates in project meetings and communicates updates to team members and stakeholders.
