Job summary

Baker Concrete Construction, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to support field activities and collaborate with the Project Manager on multiple projects. You will help manage cost, schedule, procurement, and contract requirements to ensure smooth project turnover.

The role emphasizes scheduling, cost control, and collaboration with cross-functional teams on small to medium projects, with a strong focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required with construction experience or related training.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is expected.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Generates and obtains approvals of monthly billing and earned values.
• Develops and manages the project schedule on small or mid-sized projects.
• Analyzes targets and goals, job cost summaries, and other reports.
• Alerts the Superintendent and Project Manager of project impact relating to resource management, crew make-up/size, etc.
• Generates estimates of change orders and may interface with pre-construction on original bids.
• Collaborates with pre-construction and project team to manage the job transition process and procurement plans.
• Prepares field purchase orders and manages Major Purchase Orders.
• Gathers and roughs-in monthly financial reports and participates in financial reviews.
• Assists with invoicing and coding of project invoices.
• Coordinates with site teams to generate as-built records and turnover packages.
• Leads LEAN/SQP initiatives and ensures subcontractor compliance.
