Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Project Engineer to join a Michigan-based commercial design-build firm. You will support project teams through the construction lifecycle, coordinating with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CM/CE/Architecture or related field.
• 1-4 years in commercial construction (internship counts).
• Familiar with construction documents, RFIs, submittals, and project controls.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; able to work with field teams, clients, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers and Superintendents in the successful execution of construction projects.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, meeting notes, and project documentation.
• Assist with procurement and material tracking activities.
• Help maintain project schedules and monitor project milestones.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and clients.
• Track budgets, change orders, and project costs.
• Participate in project meetings and site visits.
• Ensure project documentation is accurate, organized, and up to date.
• Assist with project closeout activities and turnover documentation.
• Promote safety, quality, and client satisfaction throughout project execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
• 1-4 years of experience in commercial construction, internship experience considered.
• Understanding of construction documents, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and project controls.
• Ability to assist with project scheduling, document management, procurement tracking, and subcontractor coordination.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software platforms.
• Ability to work effectively with field personnel, clients, design teams, and subcontractors.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem solving.
