Job summary

Yates Construction seeks an Assistant Project Manager I to help plan, organize, and manage day-to-day project operations under supervision. You will gather and distribute information, review contracts, and support field teams to ensure quality and safety on site.

The role emphasizes collaboration, timely communication, and adherence to safety procedures while supporting estimating, bidding, and document management throughout project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or higher preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel).
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specs.
• Strong verbal and written communication; team player.
• Knowledge of basic construction principles and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Review project contract documents, specs, and drawings.
• Participate in meetings to coordinate work and manage labor, taking minutes.
• Provide field support to ensure contract compliance and quality on site.
• Assist in developing scopes of work for subcontractors.
• Assist with constructability reviews and preconstruction activities.
• Attend prestart and safety meetings; support site safety program.
• Assist in estimating, bidding, and tracking costs to manage the budget.
• Support development of site logistics plans and change management.
