Job summary

W. G. Yates & Sons Construction Company in Vernon, Texas is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to assist with planning, organization, and daily operations on a construction project.

Under supervision, you’ll gather and distribute information, support field teams, help manage scope, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and assist with estimates, change orders, and project close-out. Strong communication and organizational skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree preferred in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Knowledge of basic construction and/or engineering principles.
• Knowledge of basic business principles sufficient to monitor expenses.

Responsibilities

• Review project contracts, specs and drawings.
• Participate in coordination meetings and take meeting minutes.
• Provide field support to superintendents and PMs to ensure compliance and quality.
• Assist in developing subcontractor scopes.
• Assist with constructability reviews.
• Attend preconstruction meetings with subcontractors.
• Assist with project close-out.
• Coordinate punch list items and procedures.
• Assist in estimating and bidding; track costs to manage the budget.
• Help develop and maintain site logistics plan.
• Assist change management by handling quotations for IOCC & Change Orders.
• Review and distribute RFIs and submittals.
• Document technical, financial and personnel aspects.
• Assist in managing permits.
