Job summary

HGC Construction in Columbus, OH seeks a Project Manager who acts as a builder, coordinating owners, trade partners, field teams, and stakeholders from bid review through closeout. You will own project plans, contracts, MSAs, and scopes, while driving Lean schedules and cost controls.

Expect to lead procurement, bidding, buyout, and submittal reviews in Procore, maintain drawings, track RFIs, and report progress to management.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
3–7 years of experience as a co-op, Project Engineer, or equivalent.
Reading and interpreting construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and inspection compliance.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with contractors, architects, engineers, and stakeholders.
OSHA 30 certification or equivalent is preferred.
Experience with higher education projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

Understand project plans, owner contracts, MSAs, and project scopes.
Support subcontractor prequalification, bidding, and buyout; attend pre-bid walk-throughs and review bids.
Maintain drawings, specs, directories, and information in Procore; track submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings.
Create procurement logs, track permits, and lead meeting agendas/minutes.
Build and update project schedules in Phoenix; drive Lean weekly plans and pull-planning.
Manage cost controls and report financial status using Viewpoint standards.
Oversee project closeout from start to finish, delivering complete documentation.
