Job summary

Yates Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager I to assist with planning, organizing, and managing day-to-day project operations on-site in Elk Grove, CA. The role supports project managers and field staff to ensure contract compliance, quality, and site maintenance.

The position involves reviewing documents, coordinating meetings, taking minutes, and assisting with subcontractor scopes, constructability reviews, and change management. A relevant undergraduate degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic construction and/or engineering principles.
• Knowledge of basic business principles sufficient to project and monitor expenses.
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred; substitutions allowed as per education policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning, organization and management of day-to-day project operations.
• Review contract documents, specifications and drawings.
• Attend meetings to coordinate work and take minutes as required.
• Provide field support to ensure contract compliance, quality and site maintenance.
• Assist in developing scopes of work for subcontractors and constructability reviews.
• Assist with project close-out, punch lists, and change management.
