Job summary

Yates Construction seeks an Assistant Superintendent to support the Superintendent in coordinating field activities, reviewing contract documents, and ensuring quality, safety, and schedule adherence.

You will assist in manpower planning, prepare work plans, coordinate with subcontractors, and maintain project records and communications across trades. Based in Elk Grove, California, this role offers growth within a hands-on field environment.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or higher preferred in construction-related field; other relevant education or experience may substitute.
• Knowledge of basic construction and engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and communicate progress on tasks assigned by the Superintendent.
• Assist planning manpower and labor across trades.
• Review project contract documents, specifications, and drawings.
• Attend meetings to coordinate work and manage labor concerns; take minutes.
• Provide field support to ensure contract compliance, quality control, and site maintenance.
• Assist in developing scopes of work for subs and with constructability reviews.
• Support schedule development and change management processes.
