Job summary

W. G. Yates & Sons Construction Company is seeking an Assistant Project Manager I to support planning, organization and the day-to-day site operations on a project.

Under supervision, you will perform routine tasks that involve gathering and distributing information. Responsibilities include reviewing contract documents, attending meetings, providing field support to superintendents and project managers to help ensure safety, quality and budget compliance.

Qualifications

• An undergraduate University degree or higher (preferably in Construction Management, Engineering, or a closely related field).
• Knowledge of basic construction and/or engineering principles.
• Knowledge of basic business principles sufficient to project and monitor expenses.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel.
• Ability to read and understand technical specifications, blueprints, technical manuals, product/material installation instructions and engineering/architectural drawings.

Responsibilities

• Review project contract documents, specifications, and drawings.
• Participate in meetings to coordinate work and manage labor concerns, taking minutes as required.
• Provide field support to construction superintendents and project managers to help ensure contract compliance, quality control and maintenance of the site.
• Assisting in developing scopes of work for subcontractors.
• Assisting with estimating and bidding processes to include tracking costs to manage project budget.
