Job summary

ACCIONA seeks an Accountant to support day-to-day project accounting for one or more projects, preparing journal entries and reconciling cost reports. The role tracks subcontractor insurance, aids month-end close, and maintains cost codes.

You will collaborate with field teams, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure accurate project pay forms. Strong attention to detail and organization, plus experience in construction accounting, are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction field accounting experience or relevant training preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of construction project accounting.
• Ability to support one or more project teams with varying levels of complexity.
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
• Effective time management and task prioritization skills.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Developing analytical skills.
• Demonstrates accountability for assigned tasks and seeks guidance when needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepares project journal entries and reconciles cost reports for one or more projects.
• Compiles and analyzes project pay forms to meet deadlines and ensure accuracy.
• Tracks insurance and bond information for all subcontractors.
• Assists in month end closing, budget rearrangements, and budget revisions as directed by project team.
• Sets up cost codes and cost types for project needs.
• Supports field personnel timecard entry, certified payroll and reporting as needed.
• Enter equipment time entry and reconcile equipment accruals for project needs.
• Supports accounts payable and onsite invoice entry to track project expenses and payments.
• Works with project personnel to expedite payment and resolve issues.
• Acts as liaison between project team and vendors or subcontractor accounting teams.
