We are hiring an Accountant for a well-established construction and maintenance company specializing in industrial facilities. This role involves hands-on preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, and support of monthly and year-end close processes. The Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate project cost tracking, supporting operational decision making, and strengthening the integrity of financial reporting across project and corporate accounting functions.
Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and assist with monthly and year end close processes.
- Support project accounting activities including job cost tracking, WIP schedules, cost allocations, and project margin reporting.
- Assist with subcontractor and vendor accounting, including invoice review, cost coding, lien waiver tracking, and compliance documentation.
- Provide cross-functional support to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll teams to ensure accurate project financial reporting.
- Maintain fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and overhead allocations related to construction projects and equipment.
- Collaborate with project managers and operations leadership to ensure accurate project cost visibility and timely financial reporting.
Qualifications
- Years of experience supporting general ledger accounting and project-based accounting within construction or industrial contracting environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Experience with construction accounting systems such as Viewpoint Vista, Sage 300 CRE, CMiC, Spectrum, or similar, along with strong Excel skills.
