Job summary

firstPRO, Inc is seeking a Construction Accountant to support project accounting, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations in a fast-paced construction environment.

You will work with Project Managers and Operations to ensure accurate job costing, vendor invoicing, and timely close processes, while building expertise in construction accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required.
• Construction industry experience is required.
• Familiarity with WIP accounting or job costing is required.
• Accounts payable experience is preferred; accounts receivable is a plus.
• Experience with Procore, Sage or TimberScan is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project accounting and monitor financial performance of active projects.
• Support WIP reporting and project cost tracking.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Operations to ensure accurate job costing and reporting.
• Process vendor invoices and support accounts payable.
• Assist with customer billing, accounts receivable and collections as needed.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Accounting experience in the construction industry is required.
• Familiarity with Work-in-Process (WIP) accounting or job costing is required.
• Experience with accounts payable is preferred, while accounts receivable experience is an added bonus.
• Exposure to Procore, Sage, TimberScan, or similar construction accounting software is helpful but not required.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and willingness to learn.
• Positive attitude with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
