Job summary

Southwest Accounting Resources, Inc. is seeking a Project Accountant to perform day-to-day accounting for development projects, ensuring accurate cost tracking and strong internal controls.

You will manage full-cycle construction accounting, review invoices, track budgets, and support audits and lender reporting. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, solid US GAAP knowledge, and experience with real estate construction accounting are required; Yardi Voyager and advanced Excel are

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong US GAAP foundation with 2-5 years of real estate construction accounting experience.
• Yardi Voyager experience including Construction Manager module strongly preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform full-cycle accounting for assigned construction projects.

• Track job costs, commitments, and accrued expenses.

• Month end close, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare project-level financial statements and management reports.
• Partner with Development to understand project budgets and timelines.
• Assist with interim, quarter and year end audits, tax support, and lender reporting.
• Provide support and assistance to the shared services treasury and A/P teams as needed.
• Actively support continuous improvement and technology initiatives to enhance efficiency and ensure strong internal controls.

Responsibilities:

• Perform full-cycle accounting for assigned construction projects
• Review contractor invoices for accuracy and proper coding
• Track job costs, commitments, and accrued expenses
• Prepare loan draw support schedules and assist with lender submissions
• Month end close, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
• Prepare project-level financial statements and management reports
