Job summary

Adolfson & Peterson Construction is seeking a Staff Accountant based in Bloomington, MN, to support regional accounting functions including budgeting, forecasting, subcontractor payments and project accounting with job cost and revenue processing.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field with 2+ years of accounting experience; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word) and familiarity with construction accounting software are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the A/E/C industry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
• Familiarity with construction accounting software.
• Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.
• Ability to communicate with diverse audiences and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Take personal responsibility for working safely within an Incident and Injury Free culture.
• Keep financial operations of the region compliant with company expectations, processes, and controls.
• Collaborate with project teams to maximize profit potential.
• Assist with preparation of project billings, job cost tracking, and cash flow analyses.
• Prepare work in progress and completed contract schedules for small projects.
• Review job cost summaries and profit projections for financial integrity.
