Job summary

Cogent Analytics is seeking a Construction Accountant to manage job costing, billing, and financial controls for site development and hauling projects. You will track labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs, recording revenue using GAAP methods and ensuring accurate billings.

The role partners with Field Operations, Estimating, and Project Management to provide timely financial insights, support decision-making, and protect project profitability.

Qualifications

• Two years of construction or job-cost accounting experience preferred.
• AA/BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent construction experience considered.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar ERP is required.
• Advanced Excel skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review project cost reports for construction projects.
• Monitor budgets vs actuals and communicate variances to management.
• Manage day‑to‑day project accounting, job costing, and WIP.
• Coordinate with Field Operations, Estimating and Dispatch for milestones and billing.
• Process subcontractor/vendor invoices and ensure proper coding.
• Support month-end close and revenue recognition under GAAP.
