Job summary

C&S Companies is seeking a Project Controller to oversee the project accounting functions for our growing construction division. You will report to the Director of Accounting & Finance and collaborate with construction leaders to manage AR, invoicing, WIP, and monthly financials.

Responsibilities include assessing accounting operations, improving processes, and ensuring GAAP compliance. You will work with auditors, monitor performance metrics, and lead a skilled accounting team to support

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business management is required.
5-8 years of relevant construction industry experience.
Experience with union payroll is a plus.
Strong working knowledge of construction accounting concepts, practices and procedures, including WIP, percentage of completion and revenue recognition.
Experience with Sage Intacct or other construction ERP systems.
Strong Excel skills and ability to manage staff.
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Oversee accounts receivable, invoicing and the monthly WIP report with reconciliations.
Ensure project costing accuracy including contract prices, estimated costs to complete and gross profit.
Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory reporting.
Lead the accounting team and develop internal processes for efficiency.
Provide management with key performance metrics for decision-making.
