Job summary

Southland Industries, one of the nation’s largest MEP companies, is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant for a large construction project in Washington. You will coordinate costing, billings, and budget reconciliation while maintaining project status data in COINs.

You will collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure timely accounting, risk management, and accurate profitability analysis across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of project accounting experience preferred.
• Strong accounting knowledge.
• Strong organization skills with high level of attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
• Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with intermediate to expert level ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc. required

Responsibilities

• Compiles, prepares and analyzes monthly project billings per contract requirements.
• Performs financial analysis and reconciliation of project costs versus project budget.
• Manages vendor compliance, insurance, lien waivers, retention and W-9s
• Produces and analyzes job performance and profitability through jobs cost tracking reports.
• Assists in preparation of status reports and maintains accurate project statuses and budget information in COINs.
• Identifies and resolves basic and more complex project-related accounting issues and resolves in a timely manner.
