Job summary

Southland Industries, a leading MEP company, seeks a Project Accountant to coordinate all phases of construction job costing, billings, and vendor compliance. You will work with the Project Manager to ensure timely, accurate accounting and risk management across the project life cycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience preferred.
• 3-5 years of project accounting experience preferred.
• Strong accounting knowledge and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating monthly project billings per contract requirements.
• Performing financial analysis and reconciliation of project costs vs budget.
• Processing project accounts payable and subcontracts payable.
• Managing vendor compliance, insurance, lien waivers, retention and W-9s.
• Producing and analyzing job performance and profitability through cost tracking reports.
• Maintaining accurate project statuses and budget info in COINs.
• Identifying and resolving project accounting issues in a timely manner.
