Job summary

Yates Construction is seeking a Project Accountant to join the division finance team in Texas. You will manage job cost projections, billings, and coordinate with AP and Subcontract departments for monthly owner billings.

Responsibilities include working with project managers from start to finish, maintaining cost codes, reviewing budgets, and ensuring timely invoicing to support cash flow. Prior construction accounting experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or accounting.
• 2–5 years professional accounting/financial analysis experience.
• Construction industry experience preferred.
• Experience in project management is beneficial.
• Leadership or supervision experience preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and accounting systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage job cost projections and billings for projects.
• Coordinate with AP and Subcontract departments for monthly billings.
• Understand contracts to ensure timely progress billings and payments.
• Maintain standard cost codes in the accounting system.
• Prepare monthly invoice packages with supporting backup.
• Review budgets, fees, staffing and schedules for projects.
• Audit and ensure timely invoicing to support cash flow.
• Produce and review weekly job cost reports and variance analyses.
