W. G. Yates & Sons Construction Company is seeking a Project Accountant to join its finance team.

The role focuses on managing project costs, billings, and coordination with AP and subcontract departments for monthly owner billings. You will work with Project Managers to ensure timely receivables/payables, maintain cost codes, and prepare detailed cost projections. This position requires a bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or accounting and 2–5 years of accounting

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or accounting.
• 2–5 years professional accounting/financial analysis experience.
• 2+ years construction industry experience preferred; project management beneficial.
• Leadership/management experience preferred.
• Solid GAAP knowledge and corporate accounting understanding.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with MS Office.
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication abilities.

Mansioni

• Collaborate with Project Managers to manage receivables/payables and project costs.
• Understand owner/subcontractor contracts to ensure accurate billings/payments.
• Maintain standard cost codes in the accounting system.
• Coordinate with funding agencies for pay applications and requirements.
• Prepare monthly invoice packages with backup for billings.
• Lead monthly accounting meetings with construction/PM teams.
• Investigate variances and submit variance reports to Division Controller.
• Oversee creation/approval of project billings to customers.
• Review budgets, including fees, staffing, and schedules.
• Ensure cash flow by auditing and timely invoicing.
• Provide weekly detailed job cost projections to Controller.
• Review job cost reports and assist with change orders, billings, setup.
• Produce and review billings for owners/clients; reconcile non-lump sum billings.
• Meet billing deadlines; distribute monthly Job Cost Reports.
