Job summary

Messer Americas is seeking an experienced Project Manager, Construction to oversee and support construction program development for all capital projects undertaken by Project Engineering and Execution Americas. You will ensure proper planning, staffing, and implementation of construction for critical capital projects.

Qualifications

• Degree or apprenticeship in appropriate field.
• 10 years construction related experience in the Chemical Process Industries or other relevant industry.
• Experience with construction safety practices and procedures.
• Understanding and experience with QA/QC theory and application.
• Mastery of construction processes, systems, tools, and application.

Responsibilities

• Promote a culture where all employee and contractor behaviors demonstrate care for themselves, others, and the environment.
• Drive a continuous improvement in Project Engineering and Execution for construction.
• Develop, maintain, update, implement and staff the construction program for Capital Projects. Messer relies on outsource resources for most of our construction activities.
• Develop and improve standard practices for construction of plants. Leverage knowledge of ASU and CO2 plants to ensure proper due diligence in construction prior to handover to commissioning for check out activities.
• Support the Proposal team in the development of Project Definition and Execution Strategies as related to construction of plants/projects.
• As required, participate in PSR4, PSR5 and PSSR processes.
• Assist the Director, Large CAP Project Execution in identifying gaps in construction practices and processes. Drive solutions, and best practices.
• Provide input and support the development of construction supervision training. Conduct training as needed.
• Develop, implement, and oversee QA/QC process as relates to construction of plants.
• Oversee individual plant construction efforts (50% of time).
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
