Job summary

Messer Americas is seeking a Program Manager, Construction for our Project Engineering and Execution Americas group. You will oversee and support construction program development and ensure proper planning, staffing, and execution of capital projects.

You will lead continuous improvement, staff construction programs, recruit and train outsourced resources, and ensure QA/QC processes are implemented before handover to commissioning. Strong collaboration across teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or apprenticeship in an appropriate field.
• 10 years of construction-related experience in the Chemical Process Industries or similar.
• Experience with construction safety practices and procedures.
• Understanding QA/QC theory and application.
• Mastery of construction processes, systems, tools, and application.
• Ability to build effective working relationships across project and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Promote a culture where all employee and contractor behaviors demonstrate care for themselves, others, and the environment.
• Drive continuous improvement in Project Engineering and Execution for construction.
• Develop, maintain, update, implement, and staff the construction program for Capital Projects, recruiting, training, scheduling, and reviewing outsourced resources.
• Develop and improve standard practices for construction of plants, leveraging knowledge of ASU and CO2 facilities to ensure due diligence before handover to commissioning.
• Support the Proposal team in developing Project Definition and Execution Strategies related to plant construction.
• Participate in PSR4, PSR5, and PSSR processes as required.
• Assist the Director of Large CAP Project Execution in identifying gaps in construction practices and processes, driving solutions and best practices.
• Provide input and support the development of construction supervision training; conduct training as needed.
• Develop, implement, and oversee QA/QC processes related to construction of plants.
• Oversee individual plant construction efforts (approximately 50% of time).
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
