Job summary

Messer Americas is seeking a seasoned Program Manager, Construction to oversee and support the development and execution of construction programs for capital projects across Project Engineering and Execution Americas. The role ensures proper planning, staffing, and implementation of construction activities to meet project goals and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Degree or apprenticeship in construction; Construction Management degree preferred.
• 10 years construction experience in Chemical Process Industries or related.
• Experience with construction safety practices and procedures.
• Understanding and applying QA/QC theory.
• Mastery of construction processes, systems, tools and application.
• Knowledge of large industrial gas operations preferred.
• Ability to build effective relationships across project and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Promote a culture of care for employees, contractors, and environment.
• Drive continuous improvement in project engineering and construction execution.
• Develop, maintain, and staff construction programs for Capital Projects; recruit/train outsource resources as needed.
• Develop and improve standard practices for plant construction and handover to commissioning.
• Support the Proposal team in defining execution strategies for plant construction.
• Participate in PSR4, PSR5 and PSSR processes as required.
• Identify gaps in construction practices and drive solutions and best practices.
• Contribute to construction supervision training and conduct training as needed.
• Develop, implement, and oversee QA/QC processes for plant construction.
• Oversee plant construction activities (roughly 50% of time).
• Other duties as assigned.
