Job summary

Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) seeks a Construction Project Manager (OPS) to oversee construction projects, act as the PMP and contract manager, and ensure compliance with timelines, budgets, and regulations. The role involves coordinating budgets, A/E services, procurement, and on-site site supervision.

Responsibilities include collaborating with the Safety and Facilities team, reviewing contracts, preparing cost estimates, and maintaining project documentation.

Qualifications

• Current certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and PMI member.
• Knowledge of construction principles and techniques.
• Knowledge of mathematics; knowledge of construction materials.
• Ability to review and interpret contract documents, building plans, and specifications.
• Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
• Ability to inspect construction projects for compliance with plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Acts as contract manager and Project Management Professional (PMP) on all assigned construction-related projects to ensure accountability of work completed.
• Assists in procurement processes, prepares bids, and coordinates A/E design documentation and cost estimates.
• Coordinates construction activities, meetings, site reviews, quality assurance, and daily contact with construction staff.
• Maintains campus standards, reports, change orders, and final completion documents; coordinates warranty and inspections.
• Reports to the Executive Director of Safety and Facilities Operations; participates in on-call rotation training.
