Job summary

VA School for the Deaf & Blind (VSDB) in Staunton, VA, is seeking a Capital Outlay Project Engineer to manage all phases of the school’s capital outlay program and selected small facility projects.

Reporting to the Director of Facilities and Engineering, you will coordinate with design professionals, contractors, and oversight agencies to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with high quality. Familiarity with VPPA, CPSM, and accessibility standards is preferred.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience managing capital outlay or large-scale construction projects.
• Working knowledge of procurement regulations, construction contracts, and state/federal building requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of the school's capital outlay program and selected small facility projects.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
• Serve as liaison between VSDB, design professionals, contractors, and oversight agencies.
