Job summary

Trane Technologies in Knoxville, TN invites you to join a 12-week Summer internship program in Construction Project Management. As a Construction Project Manager Intern you will learn by collaborating with peers across North America and assist in planning, scheduling, and delivering projects.

You will work with engineering teams, help manage budgets and RFQs, coordinate subcontractors, and communicate with contractors and owners to ensure objectives are met on time and within resources.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree for the entire internship.
• Preferred fields include Construction Engineering, Building Management, Construction Management, HVAC or related engineering.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Posting may include remote, hybrid, or onsite roles across North America.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have no major traffic violations in the past 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate assigned projects, establish schedules and procedures to achieve system objectives.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to support programming and material selection for projects.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining an operations budget and monitor forecasted cost to completion.
• Coordinate preparations for subcontractor RFQs, scope statements, milestones, specs and billing schedules.
• Receive and qualify subcontractor proposals and supervise project staff, subcontractors and installers.
• Communicate with contractors, subcontractors and owners about scope, budgets and progress.
