Job summary

Ortus Engineering, P.A. is seeking a project coordination and expediting specialist to manage multiple complex construction projects in Miami. You will coordinate plans, permits, and documentation across design teams, architects, contractors and clients to ensure timely delivery.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget while maintaining compliance with building codes and permits.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and expedites flow of plans and assemblies between sections, maintaining records.
• Reviews production schedules with supervisors to determine material needs and track overdue materials.
• Verify work for accuracy and compliance with standards; enforce safe practices.
• Oversee coordination and inspection of construction projects with vendors and government entities.
• Manage office staff to ensure timely processing of permits and inspections.
• Collaborate with Design Team on permitting and construction plans; resolve issues early.
• Work with architects, contractors and clients to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Lead development of multi-project plans and programs aligned with client goals.
• Coordinate receipt of Hold Harmless, Notice to Building Official, and affidavits for permits.
• Prepare plans and affidavits signed by engineers for Expediting.
• Monitor plan reviews across Structural, Building, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing; track responses to comments.
• Provide office support and updates to Expeditors during the permit process.
• Provide record keeping of shop drawings and job site sets for inspections.
• Coordinate with PMs for deadlines for permitting and COs.
