Job summary

Clarkson Construction Company is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support payroll for multiple divisions, locations, and employee categories. The role involves processing weekly payroll, handling certified payrolls, and maintaining payroll systems with accurate data entry for hires, deductions, and taxes.

The candidate will produce quarterly/year-end reports, manage union paperwork, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Qualifications

• Requires an associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred.
• Strong math and communication skills are essential.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Strong work ethic with integrity and commitment to compliance and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Supports accurate, timely weekly payroll Processing for multiple locations and groups.
• Handles union and non-union payroll, including certified payrolls and Davis Bacon wage orders.
• Maintains payroll software, processes hires/status changes, deductions, garnishments, and taxes.
• Completes quarterly and year-end reporting; responds to time-sensitive matters.
