Job summary

Keller is seeking a detail‑driven Payroll Assistant with construction payroll experience to support weekly payroll processing for union and non‑union craft workforces. This role ensures prevailing wage compliance and accurate certified payroll reporting for public and private projects.

The position collaborates with HR, Operations, and Branch Accounting to maintain wage rates, ensure accurate job cost coding, and provide timely management reports.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll experience in construction (union and non‑union), including prevailing wages, certified payroll, and OCIP/CCIP reporting.
• Proficiency with payroll/timekeeping systems and Excel; strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Accurate data entry, reconciliation, and documentation.
• Advanced Excel, solid computer and ERP skills including the ability to adapt to new systems.
• Strong written/verbal communication and customer service.
• Organization, multitasking, and deadline management; ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to support occasional overtime during peak cycles.
• CPP credential; accounting coursework/degree (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Weekly payroll processing across union and non‑union craft workforces.
• Union payroll: maintain wage rates, fringes, dues, and prepare reports.
• Certified payroll & prevailing wage: prepare WH‑347 reports with accurate classifications and hours.
• OCIP/CCIP reporting: support enrollment and reporting, ensure timely submissions.
• Compliance & controls: verify wage determinations and classifications, manage garnishments.
• Collaboration & customer service: work with HR, Project Management, and Branch Accounting to resolve on timekeeping issues.
