Jobot is seeking a Permanent Certified Payroll Specialist in the construction sector to manage all payroll aspects, ensure compliance with labor laws, and serve as the main payroll contact for employees and managers. The role emphasizes accuracy, independence, and teamwork within a growth-minded firm.

You will handle weekly government-contract payroll reporting, wage verifications, and licensing tracking while supporting subcontractor relations and contract administration.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in payroll or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of state and federal labor laws.
• Knowledge of prevailing wage rates.
• Experience with processing bonds and enrolling in insurance programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and submit weekly payroll reports for government contracts.
• Verify compliance with labor laws and prevailing wage rates.
• Gather and confirm wage information.
• Audit subcontractor payroll and monitor money transfers.
• Process adjustments in line with labor regulations.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and sensitive data.
• Track licenses (CSLB and city/county business licenses).
• Manage subcontracts and coordinate documentation.
• Review contracts with General Managers and communicate requirements.
• Issue LOIs and subcontracts.
• Coordinate documentation and coding of invoices.
• Process bonds and performance bonds.
• Enroll in OCIP/CCIP programs.
• File prelims for contracts and provide information to subcontractors.
