Job summary

Caton Construction Group in Troy, Virginia, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our accounting team at the corporate office. You will compile and maintain construction payroll, provide weekly and bi-weekly gross pay reports, and reconcile to final payrolls.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of payroll experience in construction or government contracts, strong understanding of multi-state taxation and GAAP reporting, and a meticulous, analytical approach.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of payroll administration experience.
• Construction/government contracts experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of payroll-related GL accounts and GAAP reporting.

Responsibilities

• Compile and maintain construction payroll, ensuring accurate hours and pay reports.
• Provide weekly and bi-weekly gross pay reports and reconcile to final payroll data.
• Assist with new hire onboarding and respond to payroll inquiries from HR and employees.
• Maintain documentation and records for payroll systems and audits.
• Prepare certified payroll reports where required and ensure Davis-Bacon compliance.
