The Waldinger Corporation in Des Moines, IA is seeking a full-time Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate and timely pay for hourly craft employees. This role requires strong knowledge of payroll regulations, experience with payroll software, and keen analytical and customer service skills.

You will process field payroll, handle deductions, and prepare monthly union fringe reports while maintaining compliance with applicable laws and Waldinger's policies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 2 years in a union construction payroll position preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• An eye for detail and an analytical mindset.
• Ability to take initiative and problem solve independently.

Responsibilities

• Process field payroll, the computation of pay, and associated deductions for accuracy.
• Responsible for accurate preparation, documentation, distribution, and reconciliation of payroll.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of city, state, local and federal legislation affecting payroll and understands and follows applicable provisions.
• Complete monthly union fringe reports
• Responds to and resolves any inquiries regarding paychecks or payroll reporting.
• Ensures payroll issues are escalated and resolved promptly.
