Job summary

Calista Corporation seeks a Payroll Technician – Construction to handle weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing across multiple companies, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality while supporting certified payroll reporting and related reconciliations.

You will use intermediate Excel functions (VLOOKUP, PivotTables), prepare payroll reports, process garnishments and deductions, and collaborate with finance and project teams to meet payroll deadlines and compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting with payroll experience or four years of payroll experience.
• Construction industry or Alaska Native Corporation experience preferred.
• Experience with multistate payroll, certified payrolls, and union reporting preferred.
• Ability to pass drug, background, reference, and credit checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and confidential payroll processing for multiple companies.
• Calculate retro payments and benefit true ups.
• Prepare and file project certified payroll reports and W-2s.
• Process garnishments, union dues, and other deductions.
• Maintain payroll filing systems and respond to audit requests.
