Job summary

Calista Corporation seeks a Payroll Technician - Construction to administer weekly and bi-weekly payroll across multiple companies, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. This role supports certified payroll reporting, garnishments, 401(k) submissions, and tax reconciliations.

The ideal candidate has accounting training and payroll experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining data integrity in a team-focused environment in Alaska.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Accounting with 1 year payroll experience, or 4 years payroll experience.
• Experience with multistate payroll, certified payrolls, and union reporting preferred.
• Ability to pass a drug, background, reference, and credit check.
• Experience working for a construction company, or another Alaska Native Corporation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process accurate and confidential payroll for multiple companies using Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables).
• Calculate retro payments and benefit true ups.
• Process data migration and validation between systems.
• Prepare and submit project certified payroll reports.
