Job Description

General Responsibilities:

• Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g., soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel).
• Communicate with project team members and clients regarding site, project requirements, and testing results.
• Transport samples to the laboratory with proper documentation for testing and analysis.
• Prepare and submit data and observations through reports and digital formats for daily review.
• Maintain equipment, vehicles, and work areas in good condition.
• Assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians to project sites.
• Adhere to strict safety standards.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Perform testing, observation, and inspection according to training and procedures.
2. Document findings clearly and accurately.
3. Analyze data to verify accuracy before submission.
4. Communicate findings to the Project Manager and team.
5. Assist higher-level technicians with complex tasks.
6. Maintain calibration and upkeep of equipment.
7. Follow safety protocols, report safety issues, and ensure quality standards on all projects.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience or equivalent training.
• Proficiency with laptops and Microsoft Office.
• ACI certification in areas such as Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I, Concrete Strength Testing Technician, or Radiation Safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation.
• Completion of safety certifications.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable record.

Preferred Certifications:

• NICET Level II in Construction Materials Testing or Geotechnical categories.
• ICC certifications in various structural and fireproofing categories.
• AWS Certified Associate Welding Inspector (CAWI).
• ASNT Level II in NDT areas such as VT, MT, PT, RT, UT.
• Other relevant certifications as deemed appropriate.
