Job summary

S&ME is hiring Construction Materials Engineering Technicians in Evansville, IN. You will perform field and lab testing on construction materials, collect samples, interpret results, and compile reports while collaborating with engineers and project managers.

Growth opportunities and mentorship are offered in a team-focused environment. The role supports both entry-level and experienced technicians, with flexible shifts based on project needs and potential travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in a related field preferred for advanced levels.
• Experience levels range from Technician I (0-2 years) to Technician IV (5+ years) with potential for leadership roles.
• Certifications: ACI Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory Technician; ICC Special Inspector.
• Key competencies: strong English communication, basic math, willingness to travel, valid US driver's license, ability to operate a company vehicle, background check.

Responsibilities

• Field & Lab Testing: Conduct field and laboratory testing on concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates.
• Sample Collection & Prep: Collect and prepare samples for analysis.
• Data Interpretation & Reporting: Interpret test results and prepare detailed reports.
• Team Collaboration & Compliance: Work with engineers, contractors, and project managers to meet specifications and safety guidelines.
