S&M E in Charleston, SC is seeking a Construction Materials Engineering Technician to join our Construction Services team. You will perform field and lab testing on concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates, collect samples, and help interpret results under experienced mentors.

This role offers hands-on training, opportunities for advancement, and potential leadership responsibilities. Candidates may be at different experience levels and must comply with safety standards and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred for advanced levels.
• Field and lab testing experience preferred but not required for all levels.
• Candidates must pass background and driving record checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory testing on construction materials such as concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates.
• Collect and prepare samples for analysis and testing.
• Interpret test results and assist in preparing detailed reports.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and project managers to meet specifications and safety guidelines.
