Job summary

S&ME, Inc. is seeking a Construction Materials Project Manager in Florence, SC. You will lead CMT and Special Inspection projects from initiation to completion, ensuring quality, compliance, and client satisfaction.

This role combines field oversight, technical guidance, and client development to support company growth. You will mentor field and engineering staff, manage budgets and schedules, and liaison with clients and contractors to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or a related Engineering discipline.
• 4+ years of professional experience; construction materials testing and special inspection a plus.
• EIT certification required.
• PE license preferred or ability to obtain in future; ICC/ACI/DOT certifications a plus.
• Knowledge of ACI, ASTM, AASHTO, DOT standards and IBC Special Inspections requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication with attention to detail.
• Ability to develop, review, and deliver accurate technical reports and project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Direct CMT and Special Inspection projects through completion, managing budgets, schedules, staffing, and technical activities.
• Engage with clients and contractors through meetings and site visits to clarify expectations and resolve concerns.
• Oversee inspection services, evaluate field records, and coach staff to maintain quality and compliance.
• Prepare project reports, proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates with thorough, timely deliverables.
• Expand client partnerships and participate in professional groups to support business development.
