Job summary

Construction Materials Project Engineer position at S&M in Atlanta, GA. Lead CMT and SI projects from kickoff through closeout, ensuring quality, compliance, and client satisfaction. You will oversee technical execution, mentor field staff, and foster strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or related Engineering field
• Minimum 4 years in Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and SI experience
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) required; PE preferred or obtainable
• Active ICC, ACI, and DOT certifications are a plus
• Strong knowledge of ACI, ASTM, AASHTO, DOT standards and IBC Special Inspections

Responsibilities

• Lead CMT and Special Inspection projects from kickoff to closeout, including budgeting and scheduling
• Collaborate with clients and contractors through meetings and site visits
• Mentor technicians and engineers to ensure accurate testing and reporting
• Review and produce reports, scopes of work, and cost estimates
• Support business development and grow local market presence through networking
