Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical coursework preferred.
• 0-3 years of experience in construction materials testing or geotechnical laboratory work.
• Safety-focused with OSHA, PPE protocols.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office; Field Data Collection software preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret procedures, manuals, and reports.
• Strong math, measurement, and documentation skills.
• Good written and verbal communication; teamwork.
• Physical ability to stand, lift 35–75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregates, and other construction materials following ASTM, AASHTO, and applicable standards to ensure compliance with project specs.
• Document test results with detailed, organized records and reports.
• Operate and maintain laboratory testing equipment.
• Assist with sample preparation, handling, and proper storage, ensuring sample integrity.
• Follow safety protocols and laboratory procedures including PPE usage.
• Communicate effectively with lab supervisors, engineers, and field personnel.
