UES, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician I to support geotechnical, construction materials testing, and environmental projects. You will prepare samples, operate testing equipment, and record data to ensure quality results for infrastructure projects.

The role requires following standardized procedures, adhering to safety protocols, and collaborating with lab supervisors, engineers, and field personnel to deliver accurate test results.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical coursework preferred.
  • OSHA, company, and lab safety protocols must be followed, including PPE.
  • Ability to read and interpret procedures, manuals, and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine laboratory testing on construction materials following ASTM/AASHTO standards.
  • Document and report test results with detailed, organized records.
  • Assist with sample preparation, handling, and proper storage for traceability.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory testing equipment.
  • Communicate updates on test results and sample status to supervisors and field personnel.
  • Follow safety protocols and contribute to lab organization and compliance.
  • Support the laboratory team, field technicians, and project managers as needed.
