Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking an entry-level team member to assist in construction materials testing and field observation. You will work in the field and laboratory, supporting testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other materials, and help document site conditions and results.

You will also organize equipment, perform data entry, and collaborate with project teams to ensure smooth execution. Outdoor field work and lab settings are part of the role, with on-site support and learning

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Certifications within 90 days introductory period and 270 days for basic certifications

Responsibilities

• Assists with construction materials testing and observation in field and lab
• Observes testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials
• Supports documentation of site conditions and testing results
• Assists with organization and preparation of field and laboratory equipment
• Performs basic data entry and documentation tasks
• Works with technicians and project teams to support project execution
• Participates in field and laboratory workflows to gain practical experience
• Assists with maintaining clean and organized work areas
• Performs other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

• 0 years of related experience
• Actively pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or another related degree
• One certification must be completed within the 90-day introductory period, and all basic certifications must be completed within 270 days of employment
  • Certifications applicable to the work performed are required
• If driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver’s license is required
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and organized work ethic
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to follow directions and work under supervision
• Basic problem-solving and observational skills
• Willingness to work in outdoor field environments and laboratory settings

Military Qualifications

• The following US Military ranks would qualify for this position:
  • E-4

The expected pay range for this role and location is $16-$18/hour. The final agreed-upon compensation will be determined based on specific location and other individual qualifications.
