Job summary

ECS Mid-Atlantic, LLC is seeking an entry-level field/lab technician to assist with construction materials testing and observation in Chantilly, VA. You will help document site conditions, organize equipment, and perform data entry as part of project teams.

The role offers hands-on training in soils, concrete, asphalt and other materials testing. Ideal candidates are pursuing a Civil Engineering degree, with strong communication, reliability, and the ability to work outdoors and in a laboratory

  • Actively pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Certifications: one within 90 days, all basic certs within 270 days
  • Valid driver's license if driving for ECS
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Dependable, detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work outdoors and in laboratories

Responsibilities

  • Assist with construction materials testing and observation in field and lab
  • Observe soils, concrete, asphalt, and other materials testing

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • 0 years of related experience
  • Actively pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or another related degree
  • One certification must be completed within the 90-day introductory period, and all basic certifications must be completed within 270 days of employment
    • Certifications applicable to the work performed are required
  • If driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and organized work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to follow directions and work under supervision
  • Basic problem-solving and observational skills
  • Willingness to work in outdoor field environments and laboratory settings
Military Qualifications
  • The following US Military ranks would qualify for this position:
    • E-4

The expected pay range for this role and location is $20-$22/hour. The final agreed-upon compensation will be determined based on specific location and other individual qualifications.
