Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee all field construction activities, ensuring cost, schedule, and quality standards are met across communities.

You will set build times, manage staff, review plans, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate with public agencies for permits and approvals. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in construction management, budgeting, and scheduling, with excellent communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 10 years related experience preferred
• Ability to read, understand and interpret construction documents, drawings, specifications, and schedules
• Proven ability to manage budgets and control cost overruns
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and OSHA standards
• Proficiency with DRH Construction applications on mobile devices and laptops

Responsibilities

• Recruit and train field personnel in construction processes, safety and quality requirements
• Schedule and direct tasks for all construction phases
• Supervise construction activities through managers and superintendents
• Ensure safety standards in accordance with OSHA and regulations
• Oversee field operations to meet build times and quality standards
• Review architectural plans and approve changes; ensure permits and approvals
• Travel as needed to visit job sites and oversee work
