D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Construction Area Manager to oversee multiple communities in a designated region. You will supervise General Superintendents, Superintendents and Project Managers, develop schedules, monitor costs, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Seven years of related experience and/or training.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
• High degree of construction knowledge and management skills.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret construction documents, drawings, specifications, schedules.
• General knowledge of municipal permitting, regulations and building codes.
• Excellent communication skills and customer focus.
• Proficiency with MS Office and DRH Construction applications.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct construction activities in the field.
• Set build times on each plan and provide schedules.
• Maintain profitability by reviewing field purchase orders.
• Train and develop Project Managers and field staff.
• Oversee field operations and ensure quality control.
• Ensure homes meet contract specifications and are 100% complete.
• Visit job sites to check quality and enforce policies.
• Travel to designated communities as needed.
