Job summary

Schumacher Homes is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee on-site home builds, coordinate trades, and ensure high-quality craftsmanship for each project.

You will work closely with customers and the General Manager to keep projects on schedule, within budget, and aligned with customer expectations, while leveraging our Wilmington-area presence for on-site supervision.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing scattered-site residential construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, terminology and field coordination.
• Proficient with basic tech tools and communication platforms (Outlook, mobile devices).

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage single-family home construction projects from pre-construction to move-in.
• Coordinate trades, schedule crews, and ensure schedule adherence and quality standards.
• Conduct pre-construction meetings with stakeholders to align on scope and timelines.
• Ensure homes are built within time, cost, and quality targets, maximizing homeowner satisfaction.

Construction Manager

• Must be proficient in understanding residential construction systems.


• Is responsible for working with the customer to build their dream home, schedule trades and ensure the home is built with attention to quality, meeting building time expectations and exceeding homeowner satisfaction!


• Builds assigned homes within time, cost, quality and satisfaction standards.


• Participates in pre-construction meeting with General Manager, Customer Coordinators and homeowners.

Requirements

• Prior scattered-site residential construction experience (preferred).


• Technical construction knowledge to understand construction processes and terminology to assist in management of field personnel and systems.


• Computer experience – the ability to use technology (Smart Phone, I-Pad). Experience with Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence.
